What is the Walk for Epilepsy?
This event is held to increase awareness and support for children, teens, young adults with epilepsy and their families living in West Central Florida.
Serving children, teens and young adults with epilepsy and their families in west central Florida for over 50 years!

The walk aims to raise awareness about epilepsy, support those affected, and fundraise to support the programs and services provided by Epilepsy Services Foundation, including seizure first aid training, parent & caregiver support groups, young adult support group, epilepsy education and resources, scholarship to Camp Boggy Creek, college scholarships and more!
March 1, 2025 at Al Lopez Park at Shelter 315. The park is located at 4810 N Himes Ave, Tampa, FL 33614. Shelter 315 is in the center of the park in the grassy open space. Check-in starts at 8:30 am. Parking is free.
Everyone is welcome! Participants of all ages and abilities can join.
Yes, pre-registration is encouraged, but on-site registration will also be available.
$20 for 11 years and older. $10 for 10 years of age and younger.
Participation Details
Comfortable clothing, walking shoes, sunscreen, water bottles, and any personal items you may need. An official Walk for Epilepsy T-Shirt is included in registration.
This walk is approximately 1 mile with one detour that can shorten it somewhat.
The event will proceed rain or shine, unless otherwise specified. Check for updates on the event website or social media.
This event is pet-friendly but your dog must be dog and people friendly, on a leash and picked up after.

Fundraising is encouraged but not mandatory. Participation alone helps raise awareness!
Funds are used to support the programs and services provided by Epilepsy Services Foundation, including seizure first aid training, parent & caregiver support groups, young adult support group, epilepsy education and resources, scholarship to Camp Boggy Creek, college scholarships and more!
Team and Volunteer Questions
Yes, we encourage team participation. You can create or join a team during registration.
Volunteers are needed for tasks like registration, handing our T-shirts, raffles, and cleanup. Contact Kathie at [email protected] for more information.
Yes, group participation is highly encouraged for building community support.
Event Activities
Our events include educational booths, raffles, music, and games!
Water and light snacks will be available.
Awareness and Education
Epilepsy is a neurological condition characterized by recurrent seizures. The event helps spread understanding and reduce stigma.
